What Is
BOROFESTA?

OVERVIEW

BOROFESTA is an independent music festival held in Kyoto since 2002. The artists are chosen not by genre, popularity, or trend, but by one simple feeling from the organizers: "We want to see this artist live."

SINCE 2002

BOROFESTA is built by the organizers together with more than 100 volunteer staff members. From venue setup to event operations, the festival is made by hand.
It is not a large commercial festival. It is a gathering created by people who love music, artists, venues, and the city of Kyoto.
If you want to discover the atmosphere of Japan's independent music scene, BOROFESTA is one of the most direct ways to feel it.
